Stainless Steel 440B is a high-carbon martensitic stainless steel alloy that contains about 16-18% chromium and has a carbon content ranging from 0.75-1.05%. Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around 760 MPa, a yield strength of 415 MPa, and a hardness rating of 58-60 HRC when fully hardened. However, heat treatment can further boost its hardness and mechanical properties.
