UNS S43600 Sheets and Plates are composed of Chromium (16-18%), Nickel (up to 0.75%), Manganese (1-2%), Silicon (up to 1%), and small amounts of Carbon (0.08% max), Phosphorus (0.04% max), and Sulfur (0.03% max). This composition provides excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion, particularly in mildly corrosive environments. Mechanically, 436 stainless steel offers a tensile strength of approximately 450-620 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%. These properties make it suitable for high-temperature applications, automotive exhaust systems, and industrial equipment where strength, corrosion resistance, and durability are essential.
